Stretch Ceiling Lighting – Which Is The Best For You?
Stretch ceilings are extremely versatile and can be used in any room as they give off a stunning result each time. They enhance the beauty and the functionality of the ceiling system it may be necessary to incorporate items into the ceilings. For example spotlights, downlights, chandeliers, pendant lights, CCTV cameras and smoke detectors.
The ceiling system can be used to create much more stunning results as we can create a starry night ceiling by using a fibre optic lighting system. This ceiling can then be back lit turning the complete lighting into one big light. If the ceiling has a print then we can give spectacular results or modern day LED tape lighting to give off an exclusive designer effect look.
Below are four types of lighting systems we offer, find the best for you:
1. Stretch Ceiling Led Lighting
One of the lighting systems we offer is LED lighting. They’re known for the interior designs where you can make special effects by using either white LED tape. We only provide the latest, which is the 15w/m chip on board.
All of the LED systems we provide can stand alone and are all controlled with a handheld remote or they are integrated into a home system using a DMX or DALI protocol.
We ensure that the LED tape is installed into your bespoke profile system which will give off a seamless join between the light and the stretch ceiling system. The system is versatile and can be used as a perimeter light to create a halo of light or random lines across the ceiling.
2. Ceiling Down Light
The first thing to always understand is that virtually any item that you want to mount in your existing ceiling can also be incorporated into a stretch ceiling. For example, spotlights, chandeliers, downlights etc.
The stretch ceiling itself won’t be able to support the weight of the item you wish to install. However before we install the stretch ceiling, we can install a support mechanism at the location where the light and object will be fitted.
The stretch ceiling will be installed at the predetermined level without any openings for the items to be incorporated to. At the location of the opening we will need to cold-cold a small acrylic reinforcing ring that is round two millimeters thick for the opening.
Once the reinforcing ring is securely fitted, we can cut out the opening. The under construction is adjusted to fit just exactly behind the stretch ceiling, and then the required item can be installed.

3. Backlit Ceiling
We also offer a range of translucent ceilings where the light source is installed behind the ceiling. This can be white or even color changing, we mainly use LED tape as our light source, imagining the complete ceiling as your room light can also be used with printed ceilings. We are able to print any designs of your choice onto the translucent ceiling and when the lights are switched on the image comes to life.

4. Fibre Optic Lighting
If you wish to create a night sky effect or have twinkling coloured lights. This can be achieved easily with a use of fiber optic lighting. The light source is produced via a light projector, most projectors can create a twinkle effect or even a color changing effect. Both are usually controlled via a handheld remote controller but some of the larger systems will have to be integrated to a home smart system.
Fiber optics can add a stunning effect to your home to add that wow factor. Fiber optics use very fine tubes of acrylic to transmit light. This produces small dots of light that are expertly installed into the stretch ceiling membrane. When you look up, the ceiling appears to be full of stars like a movie scene.
